Something in fandom that boils my blood that probably shouldn't...

When a person comments on a drawing or fic or what have you, and says something along the lines of "I'll have to replace [character] with [other character] in my mind, but great pic!" ... because they ship something else?

Now, this has never happened to me, but it hurts anyway. I feel bad for the person who did the drawing/fic, because they bothered to share their ideas, and someone comes along and waves it off, shoots it down. It's just... insensitive. What's wrong with trying to appreciate the thing for what it is, pairings aside?

I think I have quite a few of these, but the song that comes instantly to mind is You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine as sung by Lou Rawls. It's timelessly groovy and addictingly sweet. Now and then I get an irrepressible urge to give it a listen. I also like that it can be about any kind of love.

I've loved it since I first heard it, which was... a very long time ago. Early high school, at least, and I'm a senior in college now.

So, it looks like it's been over a month since my last post? Uh... crap. I really have no reason. I guess I've been a little busy, but it's just school. It's not like I could'nt have used any of the time I spent procrastinating on school updating LJ.

Sooo maybe my next post will have drawings on it, if I stop being lazy. I fail at the internet lately. I DID join capslokdethklok though >_>  I'm kinda psyched that for once I have a fandom that's actually somewhat active, and not full of drama.

Gotta go study for tomorrow's test and hopefully have time to paint tonight, too...
I still think science folk should look into medicine or at least therapy for procrastination. I'm always ruining my day with it! >:[

The guy's face has the appearance of being sucked into a vortex or something, or like he's a picture that's being tilted.
Not that the picture isn't colorful and shiny and full of WUV, but it could be so much better.
Buuuut this is DA, and if I say anything, PEOPLE WILL CRY.

So, a friend I've known since middle school leaves today to live in New Jersey (the other side of the country) with her boyfriend. We hadn't seen much of each other since high school, but it's still so weird. Back when we still hung out all the time, we couldn't fathom being apart. We were sure we'd always live close together. Now she's going away, and I'm glad she's doing what she feels she needs to do. I want her to be happy, and feel calm and accepting more that sad. 

The passage of time is just so strange sometimes.

At any rate, been back at school for a few weeks and I'm having trouble being in the right mindset. I feel like such a lazy cow; I haven't really done any reading for my two art history classes, and advanced painting has been slow going too. I kinda like the pace of sculpture class, though, and it's helping me with my timidity around huge, loud power tools... breathing in all that sawdust yesterday was kind of cool.

Well crap, this entry sounds so emo! I'm actually not sad, just feeling snarky and a little disappointed in my own laziness, which is becoming a default for me. It's all good! Maybe this weekend I'll just haul ass and get a bunch of things done, it might just feel good.

but a friend is taking commissions! They're pretty cheap. Soooo if you can spare a few dollars, you could perhaps give her these dollars in exchange for some kind of real cool drawing-type-thing!
